California: Ask Grace Church to Choose Compassion Over Cruelty!
Time sensitive: Please take action today!
Farm Sanctuary has just learned about a fundraiser being held for Grace Church of Glendora in Calif. where a pig will be raffled off as a prize and slaughtered for the highest bidder. The young animal, hand-raised by students in the Covina High School Agriculture Program since he was a piglet, has nothing but trust for the human caretakers who plan to take his life. Sadly, this cruel raffle is an annual event for which children and teachers are encouraged to participate-with the goal of raising thousands of dollars. Please join us today in urging Grace Church to choose compassion over cruelty by sparing, rather than taking, the life of an innocent creature.
What You Can Do
Raffle ticket sales will continue until Thursday night as the pig's life hangs in a delicate balance. Please contact Grace Church of Glendora-- specifically Senior Pastor Dr. Gene Wood and Lynn Elliott, director of the preschool, the portion of the church which is holding the raffle-- and politely ask today that the life of this sentient animal be spared. Urge Dr. Wood and Director Elliot to carry out the ultimate gesture of grace and compassion by sending the pig to a sanctuary where he can live out the rest of his life rather than die a cruel, unnecessary death.
Contact information:
Emails are good, though email inboxes often fill up quickly, so please make a very polite phone call to both the Pastor and the Director, and urge them to send this animal to sanctuary not slaughter.
