New York Education Department Intern

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Staffing visitor center and gift store
  • Giving guided tours of the shelter
  • Maintaining visitor center facilities
  • Preparing breakfast for cabin guests
  • Assisting with Farm Sanctuary events
  • Internet research projects
  • Phone call and correspondence projects
  • Local outreach projects

Qualifications:

  • Committed to veganism
  • Knowledgeable of farmed animal issues
  • Knowledgeable of vegetarianism issues
  • Good communication and outreach skills
  • Hard working and dependable
  • Able to work well independently

Specifications:

  • Volunteer commitment of 40 hours per week
  • Two to three month commitment required
  • Available May 1st through October 31st
  • Weekend and holiday hours required
  • Shared housing available on sanctuary premises
